Paulding, OH: Paulding invests in Main Street Ohio, a program run through Heritage Ohio. Four or five experts in downtown revitalization will be walking the streets of Paulding on January 8th and 9th to see how they can help us revitalize our downtown to make it vibrant, prosperous and full of business again. DART (Downtown Assessment Resource Team) will consist of architects, grant writers, economic developers, and others who have experience helping small rural communities. There will be a public meeting held on Monday, January 8th at 6:00 p.m., location to be determined. At this meeting the team will present their findings, give some suggestions, and have the chance to ask, and answer questions.
“Main Street Ohio has helped communities like ours become vibrant again. Everyone talks about the good ole days when the square was the place to be. We’re hoping to achieve that for generations to come,” says Mikayla Pieper, director of the Paulding Chamber of Commerce. Investments made by Flat Rock Creek Fall Festival, Paulding Putnam Electric, Paulding County Area Foundation, Paulding County Economic Development, State Bank, the Village of Paulding, and personal contributions insured that the first phase of the Main Street program was funded in full. A sincere amount of gratitude to these businesses, organizations, and leaders for their support as we move forward due to their generosity.
The Friends of the Chamber will be the spear head for the Main Street initiative. The goal is to give back to the community and fuel downtown revitalization through events and fundraisers. What an exciting time to be living in Paulding. A lot is happening, and many dedicated and enthusiastic leaders in the community are excited to see what 2018 will bring. Are you?
