Paulding, OH: A national campaign that swept across the country a couple years ago showcasing school districts denying children any type of lunch if they forgot their money or had a low account balance motivated a few Paulding residents to make sure that never happens at their local district. An account specifically used for that purpose was created and is maintained at the school and has received donations from different community organizations and churches along with local residents, currently totaling approximately $2,000. Outgoing School Board member Clint Vance wants to make sure that account stays healthy during the holiday season and into the new year. Vance has decided to donate his second half Paulding board salary of $707.85 into that account. “With Christmas right around the corner, money is tight for everyone”, Vance explains while also saying “families have a lot on their mind with get togethers and traveling” so he thought this would be a way to potentially ease that burden while also giving back.
