On Sunday, December 17, 2017, The Antwerp Archer 6th grade boys basketball team competed in their end of season league tournament at the Defiance YMCA with 16 teams. The boys finished the regular season with a 5-3 record, making them the 8th seed in the tourney. They opened against 9th seeded Napoleon and came away with a 31-18 victory, matching them up against #1 seeded and undefeated Crestview. Playing a complete team game, the boys in blue and white put it all together with an impressive 46-28 upset of the Knights, moving them into the semi-finals against #4 Glandorf. The game was very tight throughout the contest, and the Archers pulled out a 39-38 win, placing them in the championship game against #2 seed Anthony Wayne. Playing with everything they had, the Generals were just too strong in the end and defeated the Archers 28-32 to end a great day for these boys. The team members are Camden Fuller, Syrus Gale, Reid Lichty, Ben Savina, Cohen Hitzeman, Carson Altimus, and Landon Brewer.
