The Lady Warriors hosted Antwerp for the girls basketball game on Tuesday, January 2. The game started in favor of the Archers and ended up there also, but not by much when the game finished at 34-39. Antwerp led at every stop after posting a 13-7 advantage following eight minutes of action and 25-20 at halftime.
Antwerp’s Rachel Williamson state collecting points early in the first quarter with a 3 point basket. Heather Oberlin also made a nice name for herself as she posted 5 in the first. The Lady Warriors wrote about half the points of the guest team, and it was sophomore Taya Kitzmiller who got things rolling with 2 – 3 point baskets. The quarter ended 7-13 with Antwerp having the lead.
The second quarter was much better for the home team as they had one point more than Antwerp. Addison Bayman and Hanna Albertson both a had a great quarter. Antwerp’s Williamson and Oberlin both were back on the score board. The half ended with Antwerp still in the lead 20-25.
The third and fourth quarters both were similar. The Lady Warriors had 2 points over in the third and 2 points under in the fourth. If it wasn’t for the deficit from the first still hanging on, Woodlan could have taken the game. The final score was 34-39 and Antwerp won the game.
