CATHLEEN JOY HARRIS, 89, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Hickory Creek at Hicksville. Born in Paulding County, Ohio on April 11, 1928 to Orvel and Florence (Manson) Keck, Joy was a homemaker and had been active in many community organizations, including Milan Homemakers, Woodlan Band Parents, and the March of Dimes. She held many leadership positions in the local, county, and state levels of the PTA. She was a 30-year member of the DAR, had volunteered for several years at the Fort Wayne VA, and was also a past member of the Empress Chinchilla Breeder’s Cooperative.
Surviving are her daughter, Rita M. Mace of Syracuse; sons, Roger D. (Diana) Harris of Grabill, Robert L. Harris of Kansas City, MO. and Rex M. Harris of Arlington, TX; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Justine Holtsberry of Paulding, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald D. Harris; and two brothers, Ray Keck and Roy Keck.
Funeral Ceremony is 10 a.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
