This week at Kiwanis, lunch was served and conversations started. Elizabeth Vance, chapter president announced the membership drive and encouraged members to bring guests. Caleb Stoller was the guest speaker, and introduced his business CMS Farm Drainage, LLC. He talked about a laser system that helps him lay farm tile down efficiently which sparked interest. He went through the entire process of tiling a field, from surveying the land to exporting data onto the computer and then to farming machinery to properly lay the mapped-out tile. Members of Kiwanis learned about the benefits of tiling, and why it is so effective in yielding good crops. “I enjoyed Caleb’s presentation because I knew what tiling was, but was unaware of the technology that went into it”, says Mikayla Pieper Kiwanis member. There is always something new to be learned at Kiwanis. The next Kiwanis meeting is January 18th.
