Last week, the Paulding FFA Agriculture Communication team competed at the district level contest at Mohawk. The team is made up of freshman Sydney Reineck, Sophomore Shannon Hale and Juniors Kalyn Strahley and Jennifer Stahl. The Ag communication contest is made up of many different parts. Each student had to take the state online test covering their knowledge of APA stylebook and editing marks. The team placed 4th in the state out of 22 teams on the test. Top finishers for the team on the test were Kalyn Strahley placing 3rd and Sydney Reineck placing 10th. The team had to create a presentation and media plan about an agriculture producer. The team choose to highlight women in agriculture for their topic this year. The team created a 15 page media plan on how they would promote and market an open house focusing on women in agriculture. During the contest the team took another test to find errors in an article and make needed corrections. Also they presented their women in agriculture slideshow and media plan and answered a variety of different questions about their topic. They team placed 1st in the district contest at Mohawk. The team will advance onto the state contest on February 10th in Columbus. Great job to this group of FFA members on their hard work and dedication to advance onto the State contest. The Paulding FFA is very proud of this accomplishment.
