“—Jon Husted,
Ohio Secretary of State
January 1, 2018”
APT was started in 1996 as a small company by Anthony Nighswander. The company, in its 22nd year, has had three different locations and has achieved excellent growth in employment through manufacturing in the areas of robotics, automation and machining. The international company has gone from 50 to 135 employees in the last five years. They also have 75,000 square foot of space with automation and machining filling the facility. They specialize in Fanuc robots that are programmed there for production.
APT has many large clients in the food industry saving the corporations manpower and time with less waste. Mr. Nighswander stated that the robots themselves do not cause people to lose jobs so much as changing what they do. People have to maintain the robots, program them and change how the automated assembly lines work, helping them to produce more product at higher quality.
APT Manufacturing has been a leader in working with schools to promote education in this industry including robotics programming. There is so much more to this, but it would require a separate article!
Anthony stated that the tax plan put through by Congress at the end of the year and signed by President Donald Trump has been a very good asset to business and will help tremendously with growth of exports from the United States. He said it was not surprising that Apple, Google and other technology companies are bringing manufacturing home now because of this. In the long term will bring many jobs and not just in large Silicon Valley areas.
He also commented of schools such as Vantage Career Center and Four County. He specifically pointed out Vantage as having an excellent robotics program and couldn’t say enough about them for all of their hard work and student training.
This award from the state of Ohio is a substantial statement showing the leadership involved in making businesses grow and helping small community areas maintain and increase employment in the technology sector.
Congratulations to APT Manufacturing, and Anthony Nighswander, for bringing good jobs to Northwest Ohio.
