PAULDING – The Paulding Panthers stayed in the Northwest Conference title chase with an easy 63-40 win over visiting Ada Friday night in boys basketball play.
The maroon and white improved to 4-1 in the league and 6-8 overall on the season while Ada dropped to 3-13 in all games and 1-3 in the conference.
Jaret Miller scored a dozen points to lead a balanced Panther attack that saw 10 players find the scoring column.
Marcus Miller chipped in 11 for Paulding followed by Austin Howell (9), Fletcher Cook (8), Ethan Rhonehouse (8), Blake Dobbelaere (5), Bailey Manz (3), Logan Bradford (3), Isaac Baldwin (2) and Carson Shull (2).
The Panthers outrebounded the Bulldogs 33-31 on the night while Paulding also committed fewer turnovers, 16-24. Paulding was 23 of 62 from the field (37%) while Ada finished 12 of 47 from the field (26%).
Paulding seized a 20-4 advantage after 8 minutes of action and cruised the rest of the way. The Panthers were on top 41-20 at the midway point and posted a 54-31 lead entering the final quarter.
Tristan Conley posted 13 points to lead Ada while Philip Coulson bucketed 7 markers.
