PAULDING – The Paulding Lady Panthers gave visiting Crestview a battle for the better part of three quarters but the Knights pulled away in the final period for a 62-31 victory in Northwest Conference girls basketball action at the ‘Jungle’ Thursday night.

Future plans: “I plan to attend the University of Toledo and major in Early Childhood Education.” Audrey would like to thank her parents for everything they have done for her. Especially her father for teaching her to the game, p.s. thanks mom for coming and cheering us on even if you don’t have a clue about what is going on. Her coaches for taking on the challenge and pushing her to be the best that she can be, her teammates for being her best friends and making her basketball career so much fun, and the fans for supporting them even though it’s hard to do sometimes. Audrey would like to thank everyone involved – past and present – in the basketball program for making her four years in The Jungle so memorable. Audrey is, and always will be, proud to have been a part of the Lady Panther Basketball Program. Hoorah!

Future plans: Attend the University of Toledo and become a Nurse Anesthetist. Kaylen says, “I would like to thank everyone who has supported PHS Girls Basketball. I can’t thank my parents enough for always supporting me. Most importantly, I would like to thank my team and coaches for making my last year of basketball one to remember.”

Cassidy Posey was escorted by Don & Stephany Foltz. Activities participated in at Paulding: basketball, volleyball, track & field, National Honor Society, drama department, student council, class officer, FFA, Panther Pep Club, PAWS, yearbook, OMUN and a proud member of Stupendum. Her future plans including attending Cincinnati Christian University while majoring in Early Childhood Education and continuing her athletic career playing volleyball.
Cassidy would like to thank her parents and grandparents for coming to all her games and supporting her throughout the years. She’d also like to thank all of her coaches and teammates for making her basketball career so memorable. “Finally, a big thanks to all of the fans who have continued to support the Lady Panther Basketball Team these past couple of years. Shout out to my friends, you guys are the best! Go Panthers!”
In the game, Crestview was on top 10-6 at the end of eight minutes of action and outscored the Panthers 18-13 in the second stanza to open a 28-19 halftime advantage.
The Panthers managed only six third quarter points but still trailed only 40-25 at the end of three periods.
However, Crestview put the game away in the final eight minutes of action by adding on 22 points compared to Paulding’s six to wrap up the 62-31 victory.
Audrey Manz topped the Lady Panther efforts with 14 points with Cassidy Posey chipping in 11.
Kaylen Hale (3), Asia Arellano (2) and Sadie Estle (1) also scored for Paulding, which falls to 6-14 overall and 2-5 in the Northwest Conference.
Lyvia Black paced a trio of Lady Knights in double digits with 15 points. Lexi Gregory added 13 and Paige Motycka had 11 for Crestview (14-6, 5-2).
Bailey Gregory (eight), Olivia Cunningham (five), Lizzie Bowen (three), Haley Speith (three), Ally McCoy (two) and Emma Bowen (two) also scored for the Lady Knights.
