Janice J. Rex, 79, died Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.
Jan was born on December 25, 1938 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of the late Wendall and Bessie (Wilson) Jump.
She was a graduate of Antwerp High School, Antwerp, Ohio. She furthered her education and became a nurse.
On September 17, 1955, she was united in marriage to Louis Rex and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2005.
Jan worked as a nurse at Community Memorial Hospital, retiring after 40 years.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Hicksville.
Jan was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and the Firemans Auxiliary. She was a seamstress, enjoyed crocheting, knitting and loved to travel with Louis.
Jan is survived by her daughter, Kristi (Michael) Bowersock of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashlie Hanson of Columbus, Ellissa (Garrett) Helf of Edgerton, Ohio, Chase (Lexi) Rodocker; a great-grandson, Javan, and a brother, Larry (Sue) Jump of Antwerp.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana.
Funeral services for Jan will be Saturday at 11:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Pastor Jack Teeple officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Six Corners Cemetery, Hicksville.
