Pettisville and Wayne Trace competed in girls basketball for the District Semi-Final on Tuesday, February 27 after the Blackbirds defeated Antwerp and the Raiders defeated North Central in the sectional championship games.
Both teams started of slow with 6-7 Blackbird lead in the first. The second didn’t finish much difference with 13-12 points, finishing the half at 19 for both teams.
The second half of the game Wayne Trace turned up the heat, scoring 46 points to Pettisville’s 22. The game finished 65-41 and Wayne Trace moved on to District Championship.
Claire Sinn and Gracie Gudakunst were top scorers with 19 and 18 respectively. Kaylee Shepherd had the most rebounds with 8 and Brooke Sinn followed with 6 for the Raiders. The Blackbirds had more rebounds but it didn’t help with 24 turnovers.
