Developmental Disabilities Awareness and Advocacy Day was held at the Ohio State House on March 7, 2018. Every year March is celebrated as National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. This year’s theme is, “Celebrate CommUNITY.” CommUNITY means people with and without disabilities working, going to school, playing and participating in their communities together.
The day was filled with individuals speaking on how they celebrate community through advocacy, art, working in their community and serving individuals. Appointments with State Legislators scheduled for individuals to speak about issues that are important to them.
