The WMEA Program Manager, Becky Suvar, provided an opportunity to the Junction community to take a recycling survey on Saturday, March 10th. After reviewing the results, residents were willing to bring their recycling to the same location, the old St Marys Catholic church, but on a different day and a different time slot.
The recycling truck and trailer will arrive in Junction on the second Wednesday of each month from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. The WMEA program will accept the regular recycling items:
Glass – rinsed, lids off – sorted white from all other colors
Steel cans – rinsed
Plastics – # 1 and # 2 ( numbers found on bottom of container in a triangle). All other plastics are not accepted
Newspapers – in boxes, bundled or in plastic bags
Magazines – sorted from newspapers
Mixed paper/shred – bagged
Junk mail – sorted from all other paper products and bagged
Cardboard – broken down – no pizza boxes due to food contamination
Aluminum cans – rinsed
This recycling opportunity will continue unless the site is abused as it was in Oakwood. Do NOT leave recycling on ground before or after the designated time.
