Paulding, OH: This week at Kiwanis, member Tiffany Beckman introduced guest speaker Jane Nice author and script writer of the Mystery Dinner Theater. Accompanying Jane was Brenda Crawford, chair of the Mystery Dinner Theater committee, and Renee and Tim Boss who play the Applegate’s in the play, and Renee serves as the director. The Mystery Dinner Theater is a performance and fundraiser for the Merry and Bright Christmas parade. The dinner theater is a sold out show and according to Nice is historical, informative, and funny. “As an author you don’t get to see people laugh while reading something funny in your book but writing a script for a live performance allows me to see the audience laugh at my humor,” says Jane Nice. In the midst of writing a book, Nice has immersed herself in the history of a few specific events that happened in 1887 right here in Paulding County. The dinner theater actors are people you may recognize from the community. While writing about certain characters Nice had specific people in mind to play them. In order to not spoil the play and maintain the hype that’s all we’ll say! If you didn’t get tickets for this play, snatch them up next time they perform.
