PAULDING – Jordan McGough limited Wayne Trace to two hits and struck out nine Raider batters in pitching the Paulding Panthers to an 8-0 shutout victory Friday night in non-league action.
McGough scattered two hits and five walks, throwing 54 strikeouts out of his 110 pitches in tossing the complete game victory.
The Panthers jumped in front early, scoring a single run in both the first and second innings before pulling away from there.
Paulding added another single run in the third before sealing the game with a four-run fifth to push the margin to 8-0.
Reid Miller and Drew Forrer had the lone two hits for Wayne Trace in the contest, each a single.
Jaret Miller and Carson Shull had two hits each to pace the Paulding offense. Marcus Miller, Hunter Kauser, Cade McGarvey and Blake McGarvey also had hits for the Panthers.
Marcus Miller drove in three runs for the maroon and white and Blake McGarvey added two runs batted in.
Haydn Gillett took the loss for the Raiders, surrendering three hits and six walks in three innings on the mound.
