Many a time we stumble and fall
Many a time lose our grip on the “ball”
The darkness seems greater, much greater than light
The good things we’d hope for seem lost from our sight
Just when the darkness has trampled us down
Deep depression and sadness we wear as a “crown”
We hear in our spirit, a sound faint but clear
“Rise up weary pilgrim, your Savior is near
I am always with you, I never will leave
Life is for winning, new strength I will give
So stand up, take courage, be strong now and live
Life is for winning, so live now and win”
This poem was written because I was one time like the person mentioned, depressed, lonely, sad and hopeless. God helped me out of the “pit” I seemed to be in. If you are needing a “lift” our help just know help is coming. Read this verse in Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with my eye” God sees you and He cares about you! Cast off all negative thoughts, find a lovely song and read it if you can’t sing. It will fill you with hope! “Tears are for the night but joy comes in the morning”
When King David (in the old testament) (I Samuel 30: 1-19) went to his camp he found the place burned to the ground and raiders had taken all the sons, daughters and women of King David and His men! They cried and wept until they could cry no more, (have you ever felt like that?) and then because of bitterness and anger the men thought to stone their leader David to death. (This is where we get good advise and real help!) David decided to talk to the Lord and he encouraged himself in his God. We need to tell our troubles and griefs to the Lord too! God told David to go after the raiders and he recovered ALL the children, women, loot and spoils! We will recover all too if we look to the Lord like David did!
Remember: “Tears are for the night, but joy comes in the morning” and “Life is for winning, so live now and win.” You are needed in this chaotic and sinful world. Your trial now will help someone later!
