The Woodlan FFA welding team members of Noah Funk and Matt Singer recently competed and placed 1st in the Indiana FFA State Welding Career Development Event contest held at the Warsaw Area Career Center. The CDE team welding competition contest consist of a practical application and a 50 question written test over welding fundamentals. The practicum consists of 5 progressively difficult welds plus a safety score. The scores are tallied and the team that accumulates the most points is declared the winning team. Noah and Matt competed against 61 other Indiana FFA welding teams statewide and crushed the second place team by 14 points. Noah and Matt will be presented the winning team plaques and the winning FFA Welding team banner at this summer’s Indiana FFA State Convention.
