Archbold, Ohio – Four individuals have been selected to receive the Northwest State Community College Distinguished Alumni Award for 2018. Those individuals will be officially recognized during a special luncheon ceremony prior to Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Archbold Campus. Plaques with their likeness will also be added to the prestigious Alumni wall of award recipients, located outside the Voinovich Auditorium in the College’s E wing.
“The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes excellence beyond Northwest State – education, professional achievement, service to the community and more,” said Robbin Wilcox, NSCC Foundation Director. “We are proud to recognize these four graduates with this prestigious award, and we congratulate them for their achievements, and for being tremendous representatives of Northwest State Community College,” Wilcox continued.
About The Recipients:
Todd Grisier is a 1980 graduate with an Associate of Technical Studies Degree in Pre-Mortuary Science. He furthered his education at the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1981 with a degree in Applied Mortuary Science. He is the fifth generation funeral director and owner of Grisier Funeral Homes located in Archbold, Delta, Stryker and Wauseon. Mr. Grisier is a resident of Archbold, Ohio and is a twenty-nine year member of the Archbold Fire Department. He also serves on the Fulton County EMA Board, the Ohio Mortuary Operational Response Team, the Disaster Mortuary Operational Team, as well as the Board of Directors of the Ohio Funeral Home Association.
Danielle Spring is a 1998 graduate with an Associate of Applied Science Degree Nursing. Danielle went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Defiance College and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is employed at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green and was recently promoted to the position of Director of Nursing Education. Danielle is a resident of Napoleon, Ohio and serves as a Sunday School Teacher and Junior Lutherans Advisor at her church. Ms. Spring is a 4-H advisor and serves on the Napoleon Area Schools Academic Boosters Club. She supports the high school water polo teams and is the president of the Napoleon Aquatic Club.
Anna Trubey is a 2008 graduate with an Associate of Applied Science Degree Nursing. Anna went on to earn both a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner at the Chamberlain College of Nursing. She is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner for Parkview Physicians Group working at their Archbold location. Anna is a resident of Stryker and is an active member of the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses, Defiance Chapter. Earlier this year, she took part in a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic through Solid Rock International. Ms. Trubey is active in her church where she regularly volunteers to conduct children’s church and deliver meals.
Janette Wagner is a 1998 graduate with an Associate of Applied Business Degree in Accounting. She continued her education at the Defiance College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2000, a Master of Business and Organizational Leadership Degree in 2007 and a Master of Business Administration Degree in 2009. Janette is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Alex Products, Inc. She is a resident of Bryan and is active in her community being involved with the Life Changing Realities Fellowship Group, the Relay for Life Team, and the OMS Teddy Bear Drive.

The Distinguished Alumni Award represents the most prestigious award presented by the Alumni Association of Northwest State. This award was established in 1998 to honor graduates of Northwest State Community College who have achieved recognized prominence in their chosen career and have made significant contributions to their profession, community and the lives of others.
