WOODBURN – The Garrett Lady Railroaders scored four times in the sixth and five more in the seventh to pull away for a 13-3 win over Woodlan Monday night in high school softball action.
Garrett jumped in front with a four-run third to start the game’s scoring before the Warriors answered with one in the fourth.
The Railroaders then broke the game open with four runs in the sixth to widen the margin to 8-1.
Woodlan trimmed the deficit to 8-3 with a pair of runs in the home half of the sixth before Garrett sealed the victory by scoring five more in the top of the seventh.
Hannah Collingsworth, Marissalee Johnson, Camden Bodey, Seaira BeMiller and Ryanne Arambula all had two hits for the Railroaders. Kenzie Casselman and Brianna Kauffman chipped in one hit each for Garrett as well.
Alyson Wiesehan and Emma Baughman both had a single and a double for Woodlan. Ronnie Hathaway, Hallie Mason, Clare Yagodinski and Olivia Wilson all had one hit for the Lady Warriors.
Emma Baughman took the loss for the Lady Warriors, tossing six innings while giving up nine hits and eight runs (four earned) with four strikeouts.
