Paulding, OH: This week at Kiwanis, member Jerry Zielke spoke about some exciting things happening in Paulding County. As many of you may have seen, there is a new restaurant opening downtown! The Pancake House owned by the same owners of the Defiance location are looking to open in late June, early July, and will be open seven days a week. The Paulding McDonalds is finishing up their landscaping and have finished indoor renovations. There will be a new restaurant opening on 637 north of Grover Hill soon, and there will also be an overnight/boarding service for cats and dogs opening on or around June 1st near Cecil. Antwerp is getting a new ice cream store soon, as well as some new businesses occupying their downtown vacancies. There is a new Dollar General in Oakwood, and Vancrest of Payne is set to open their new doors in June. EDP Renewables are in the works of another wind project to start in 2019, and the most recent development just west of Haviland has been put up and almost ready. At the Economic Development office, Zielke helps businesses go through some of the steps of becoming a business. He helps them build connections, gets connected with the right agencies such as the health department and helps new business owners look for funding. In the Small Business Innovation Center, Zielke rents out spaces to business owners simply looking for an office, headquarters, or desk. Kiwanis thanks Jerry for being a loyal member of Kiwanis and for helping the entire county prosper. Kiwanians meet next Thursday at noon.
