Vancrest Health Care Centers are proud to present their newest addition to the Vancrest family. Vancrest of Payne has a newly constructed Rehabilitation/Skilled Care center that will be open for patients in the upcoming few weeks. The staff and administration of the Vancrest Health Care Centers hosted an Open House for their new Rehabilitation & Assisted Living Services in Payne, OH. With a full spread of hors d’ouevres and drinks, the faculty for the new facility, as well as administrators from other Vancrest centers, were on hand leading attendees on tours of the new patient rooms, therapy room, spa room, dining room, and activity room. These rooms were carefully planned and professionally set up and decorated. This is just what a patient needs to recovery peacefully.
The line of refreshments were all prepared by the top-notch dietary department of Vancrest of Payne. These skilled professionals outdid themselves, making homemade tortilla chips and cupcakes, among other tasty treats — Vancrest is quite proud of their dietary staff.
Kelly Hoffman is the director of Rehabilitation and offered insight to this new rehab center. This new section of Vancrest of Payne boasts 8 skilled patient rooms and 17 long term rooms. Some of the rooms are private while others are semi-private. One room is a customized room that is capable of adapting to most any kind of rehabilitation equipment. Employees are currently in their final stages of training so they will be prepared to care for the patients that are waiting at the Antwerp and Convoy facilities. These employees will have certifications to care for dementia patients, Parkinson’s patients as well as surgical and/or fracture recoveries.
One of the physical/occupational therapies for which Vancrest staff will be trained is for LSVT – Lee Silverman Voice Technique – Big and Loud. These are exercise programs designed to help Parkinson’s Disease patients learn how to use their voice and limbs more effectively in order to communicate and move during the stages of this dilapidating disease. Director of Rehab, Kelly Hoffman is one of the LSVT certified caregivers at Vancrest.
Cindy Langenkamp, Vancrest Administrator, emphasized that the aged and injured want to remain in their hometown to recuperate and/or convalesce. Vancrest Health Care Centers’ mission statement echoes Cindy’s sentiments. Vancrest founders coined this mission as C.A.R.E. – Customer focused: resident, family and community; Attitude: always display a positive attitude; Responsibility: each person takes responsibility for results; Empathy: display empathy to customers in all situations.
Small town is a amenity that people tend to care more and more about as they age. They crave familiarity, safety, and intimacy. Vancrest facilities and employees encompass all these attributes with the very essence of why it was founded. With this new addition to the Vancrest of Payne facility, residents will have another opportunity to stay close to home.
