DEFIANCE – Ayersville rallied with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Pilots made them stand up in a 6-4 ACME baseball victory over Wayne Trace Wednesday evening.
It was the Raiders who took control early, scoring once in the first and three more in the second to take a 4-0 advantage halfway through the second inning.
However, Ayersville dominated over the next six at-bats.
The Pilots plated one run each in the second, third and fourth frames before adding three more in the fifth to post the 6-4 victory.
Brady Fishpaw recorded the complete game win for Ayersville, striking out seven batters while allowing four hits, three walks and four runs.
Fishpaw and Devan Rue each had doubles for the Pilots with Braydon Amoroso hitting a single and a double. Logan Brown and Blake Eiden also had a single each.
Haydn Gillett, Braden Zuber, Cameron Sinn and Trevor Speice all had singles for Wayne Trace.
