Jennifer and Chuck Moran were the guest speakers this week at Kiwanis talking about the Treasure Hunters Club. The club meets every Wednesday from 10:00-11:30 AM during the months of June and July at the LaFountain Park. The group started a few years back when the volunteers dressed up like pirates and has since been transformed to a group of about 40 kids who meet each week to learn about God, the Bible, and how to lead by example. The club plays games, solves mysteries and this year is focusing on Noah. The dream was to take the kids to the replica Arc in Kentucky, but the dream seemed unreachable. The Treasure Hunters Club are glad to announce that they will be taking roughly 45 kids to see the replica Arc in Kentucky on July 18th because of their commitment to making the trip happen. Kiwanis members were so impressed with the group’s stamina, drive, and willingness to serve the children of our community that they donated towards the trip to help the Treasure Hunters Club meet their fundraising goal! Kiwanis members wish the children and volunteers safe travels and hope they have an exciting time at the Arc. There is no Kiwanis meeting on July 5th due to Independence Day.
