A little competition never hurt anyone, and what a combo when you make the contest involve sugar! Riverside Christian Church hosted their first ever Dueling Desserts on Sunday, July 1, 2018. This was just a friendly competition among friends to pass the heat of the summer away. There were 15 desserts entered into the competition — from a healthy grape salad to kid-friendly Moana cookies to the flavor of the season, rhubarb crisp.
All participants of the day were given tokens to vote for the dessert(s) of their choice. In then end, there was a Kids Choice winner and an Adult Choice winner. There was also a 3 way tie for overall Dessert Champion. Kids Choice winner was Tashia Johnson with her family’s fun twist on a s’more. Staci McKeever made the family proud with grandma’s Cherry Delight. The 3rd overall winner was Brandi Clem with her chocolate mocha tiramisu.
