Shaun Matako, Kiwanis member and speaker this week talked about his new role as the chair of Friends of the Chamber. Friends of the Chamber, a volunteer group, have taken a lot of the responsibilities of planning John Paulding Days. When talking about his new role as chair he said, “It helps me to learn who we are as a community.” This year, John Paulding Days, held on July 13 and 14, will feature a beer tent and live music from Liberty Rose and Brother Believe Me. The weekend will also include bingo, Kids Zone, junk food alley, Shop the Square, a Revolutionary Color Run, and of course the parade and fireworks. Matako expressed his eagerness to help the community, and his passion for making a difference through his presentation. He urges everyone to get downtown and enjoy John Paulding Days in just a few short weeks! Kiwanis members will not meet on July 5th and wish everyone a happy Independence Day!
