The Payne Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring their 9th annual 5-K to raise funds; this year for P.A.S.S.: Paulding Area Support Society, formerly known as Paulding County Crippled Children and Adults Society. This is the same organization that receives the funds raised by the annual basketball marathon that has been held every Spring for the last 40 years.
The race will begin in Payne at 8:00 a.m. at the ball fields across from the Elementary School on West Townline Street on Saturday, July 28. Age group medals and door prizes will be awarded. Runners, walkers, kids, and dogs are welcome. All entrants will receive a T-shirt. Registration forms are available at the race, various locations around the county, payne5kblogspot.com, www.westbendnews.net, or by calling 419-263-3133.
PASS does so much for so many people, and all the money stays right here in Paulding County. It is an entirely volunteer organization, with no paid personnel. Some of the things they have helped people in need with are: medications, medical supplies and devices, therapy, education, help with funding transportation to medical appointments; and the list goes on and on.
Please come out, get a little exercise, and support a good cause!
