Harlan Park in the upcoming month will be adding 2 parking lot lights poles and security cameras to deter vandalism. The estimated cost of the project is $1,400. During the week of July 23rd the burnt out baseball field lights will be replaced, this job requires the rental of a 90’ boom lift at the cost of $1,800. The park board added 2 new at-large members, Neil Koch and Nate Koch.
The Harlan Park Athletic Association finished another season of baseball and softball. With increased player numbers this year and after a successful fundraiser HPAA was able invest over three thousand dollars in ball field fence repair.
The East Allen Soccer Club is currently registering players for the upcoming season of fall soccer in the park. EASC has transitioned to all online registering this year, except for the upcoming open house registration on July 21st.
The Harlan Days Festival board will be investing upwards of five thousand dollars this summer in much needed electrical infrastructure repair. The Saturday morning breakfast has been canceled due to lack of a hosting organization. A garden tractor pull has been added to the schedule which will take place in the arena from 1:00-4:00 on Saturday afternoon of the festival.
Harlan Community Park is owned and operated by the volunteers of the Harlan Park Community Association for the benefit of the local community.
