The rain didn’t want let up at this year’s Homecoming event in Sherwood. The Sherwood Homecoming takes place each year on the third weekend of July and this year it fell on the 21st. The rain poured in every direction it seemed and just did not want to let up. Even with the rain, Sherwood Village Administrator, Sherri Ramey, stated, “The rain really was not going to let up for us, but for what we had, it was still a good time.”
Throughout the day the doughnuts were a huge hit that were made by the fire department. Not all the food was “junk” food though as the homemade Chicken & Noodles and Beef & noodles were sold out along with the pies.
During the day the rain came and especially hard during the parade. The Sheriff Deputies had US 127 shutdown during the parade but then opened it back up after the day’s festivities.
