Two new physicians representing the specialties of family medicine and pulmonology have been added to the Lutheran Health Physicians team. These experts are the 12th and 13th providers to join LHP in 2018.
Scott Armstrong, DO, is a primary care physician who cares for men, women and children of all ages. Dr. Armstrong provides multiple types of services including preventive and chronic care. He also treats various acute illnesses.
After receiving his medical degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Armstrong completed a family medicine residency with the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program in 2007. He has more than 10 years of experience as a family medicine physician.
In 2007, he began his career in private practice and later joined DeKalb Health Medical Group where he served for seven years. He is the co-medical director of Women’s Care Center in Auburn and serves as a volunteer clinical assistant professor of family medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Armstrong, who is board certified in family medicine, is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is located at 2516 E. Dupont Road in Fort Wayne.
Dedrick Bowe, MD, is a physician on the Lutheran Health Physicians pulmonology team. He treats patients with diseases of the lungs and bronchial tubes, including the upper respiratory tract, and the heart. He focuses on helping patients get oxygen into and out of the body.
Dr. Bowe graduated with a medical degree from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. He completed an internal medicine residency at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, and a pulmonary critical care fellowship at Wayne State University in Detroit.
Dr. Bowe has experience in pulmonary subspecialty clinics including sarcoidosis, pulmonary hypertension, lung nodules/lung cancer and cystic fibrosis. He has been published in medical journals and given several presentations on pulmonary critical care topics.
Dr. Bowe, who is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Physicians and the Junior Doctor’s Association of the Bahamas.
