More than 600 attend Paulding Putnam Electric Co-op’s Member Appreciation Day

Newborns, retirees, and all ages between were found at Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative’s first annual Member Appreciation Day on Saturday, July 28, at Paulding County Fairgrounds.

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., more than 600 members and guests were served a free BBQ pulled pork lunch and walked around the carnival participating in various activities ranging from trying on PPEC linemen gear to riding the energy bike, as well as watching the co-op’s electrical safety demonstrations and getting their photo taken on the cover backdrop of their statewide magazine, Ohio Cooperative Living. Cotton candy, popcorn, and sno cones were provided, and kids enjoyed free reign of the bounce houses and face painting all day.

Numerous raffles, prizes, and giveaways were distributed throughout the day. Members Kenny and Lindsay Peterson of Continental won one month of free electricity, and both Aubrey Noffsinger and Bentley Warnimont won a child’s bike. Shayla Schomaeker gave PPEC CEO George Carter the biggest smile in return for winning an iPad. More than 70 DQ gift cards were awarded to members and their families who completed the co-op’s photo scavenger hunt.
