Friday night, the Friends of the Paulding Chamber hosted a new event: Tunes, Brews & BBQ on the street near Herb Monroe Park.
Jen and The Foggy Creek Band opened the evening creating an enthusiasm that rolled through the crowd. If you happened to miss them, they will be giving an encore performance at the Flat Rock Creek Fall Festival in September. Headlining the event was Biscuit Miller and The Mix. A Chicago native blues singer, Biscuit wowed the crowd with his smoky voice and high energy. A huge shout out to Joe Barker and My102.7 for sponsoring the Biscuit Miller Band. My102.7 also broadcast live at the event.
Ice-cold Budweiser, Bud Light and Busch Light were served, along with pop and water. Ft Wayne’s award-winning BBQ restaurant Shigs In Pit catered the event with their mouthwatering ribs, chicken, pulled port and brisket. It did not take long for the seats to fill up as attendance reached over 300 people. One person was quoted as saying, “this was the most fun he’s had in downtown Paulding in decades.”
In keeping with the mission of the Friends of the Chamber, a portion of the proceeds from this event will go into downtown revitalization. The committee would also like to give a special shout out to Chief Supermarket, Boss Sign Company, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Woodbridge Campground, Schweller Electric, Paulding County Economic Development, Village of Paulding, Paulding Senior Center, Laron Hodgin, and Dan Wilder.
The newly formed committee is already working on the next event so be on the lookout for more exciting experiences to come.
