Panthers get third win in blanking of Ada

Paulding opened its three game homestand to close the high school football season in style Friday night as the Panthers scored early and never looked back in blanking Ada 35-0.

The maroon and white struck twice in the first quarter for a 14-0 advantage before adding one score each in the final three periods.

Jacob Deisler opened the scoring with a 38-yard touchdown run for a 7-0 lead.

Paulding’s defense then picked up the second score, recovering a fumble for a touchdown to make it 14-0 Panthers at the end of one period.

Drew Lumpkins hauled in a 56-yard touchdown pass from Payton Beckman in the second quarter as the maroon and white took a 21-0 lead at the midway point.

Deisler opened the second half scoring with a 24-yard scamper for a touchdown to give Paulding a 28-0 lead entering the final quarter.

The Panthers’ final score of the night was a five yard plunge for a score by Deisler to set the final margin at 35-0.

Evan Edwards was a perfect five of five converting extra points on the night for the Panthers.

Beckman finished the night three of seven passing for 99 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Deisler ran for 128 yards on 18 carries to lead Paulding, including three for touchdowns.

Paulding ran for 201 yards in all and totaled 300 yards in total offense while limiting Ada to 196 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs also only picked up seven first downs in the contest.

The Panthers, now 3-5 overall and 3-2 in the Northwest Conference, will resume home action on Friday as they host Spencerville.
