The Paulding FFA Chapter had 12 members and two advisors attend the 91st Annual FFA National Convention in Indianapolis on October 23rd – 27th.
The chapter left after school on Tuesday and arrived in Indianapolis. Each FFA member on the trip received a Paulding FFA jacket to wear during the trip thanks to the following sponsors for making these jackets possible: Ag Credit, Bashore, Reineck, Stoller and Waterman Accounting, Goyings Farms and Go-Drainage.
The first evening they attended the Indy scream park, which is Indiana’s scariest scream park. On Wednesday the chapter toured the Indianapolis 500 track and attended the first session of the FFA Convention which had 65,000 member, advisors, and guests present. The keynote speaker was Kyle Scheele, an inspiring speaker, writer, and youth expert who brought a wonderful message about never giving up on your dreams and being kind to others.
On Wednesday evening, the chapter attended the Garth Brooks concert at Lucas Oil Stadium, which was an awesome experience. On Thursday, the chapter toured an all organic produce farm, which is the largest produce farm in Indiana and learned about what environmentally sustainable practices they are using.
That evening the chapter attended Buckeye Bash, where members from all over Ohio danced and interacted with other Ohio FFA members. Friday the chapter attended session 4 of the National FFA convention and toured Umbarger Feeds, a large show feed company. That evening the chapter attended the world’s toughest rodeo. Early Saturday morning, the chapter attended American degree ceremony where two of our chapter’s members, Hannah Farr, and Kaitlyn Fuller, received their American degrees. The chapter had a busy and fun week, and are excited for the upcoming year. The chapter would like to acknowledge the FFA Alumni for their support of this trip!
