WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) released the following statement on the 77th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
“Just before 8:00 a.m. on December 7, 1941, Imperial Japanese forces launched an attack on Pearl Harbor that cost thousands of lives and plunged the United States into World War II. Seventy-seven years to the day, we honor the lives lost and remember their sacrifice. In a week that saw us lose President George H.W. Bush, a member of the Greatest Generation, we also recognize the countless other Americans of that era that answered the call to defend our nation, fight in Europe, the Pacific, North Africa, and other regions around the world, and change the course of human history at a moment’s notice. As the years and decades pass since the Pearl Harbor attack, may we always remember those that fought bravely that day and never forget those that perished.”
