ANTWERP – Host Antwerp dominated the boards and led at every stop as the Archers cruised to a 58-45 win over visiting Fort Jennings Friday night in boys basketball action.
The Archers controlled the boards 30-16 in the contest and used that advantage to post a lead at every stop of the contest.
Luke Brewer led the blue and white efforts with 15 points while Austin Lichty also reached double figures with 14 markers.
Keaton Altimus (eight), Ty Rebber (seven), Cole Seslar (four), Blake Schuette (four), Jayvin Landers (three), Jake Ryan (two) and Jacob Savina (one) also scored for Antwerp.
The Archers led 15-12 at the end of one quarter before holding a 22-19 advantage at the midway point of the contest. Antwerp posted a 38-28 lead at the end of three periods.
Ian Ricker and Reese Von Sossan each bucketed nine markers for the Musketeers while Carson Kazee and Evan Hoersten both recorded eight points.
Nick Trentman and Simon Smith rounded out the scorers for Fort Jennings with six and five points, respectively.
The Musketeers had fewer turnovers in the game, 12-13, and shot 45 percent compared to Antwerp’s 41 percent.
