Special Olympics is always an exciting time of year when it takes place in the winter. It’s been nearly 30 years that Paulding has hosted Special Olympics and the Paulding Knights of Columbus has been in charge and taking care of this incredibly fun day for these people.
This year there were approximately 30 volunteers who made this possible for all 14 teams that came to play in Paulding. Seven of the volunteers were referees. The teams included players from Van Wert, Paulding, Henry, Fulton, Lucas, TPS, Defiance, and Williams.
The Paulding Knights of Columbus certainly does not do this alone. Cooper Farms of Oakwood donates turkey for the lunch sandwiches and the Right To Life organizes the food distribution. It’s amazing what a community can do when they come together for Special Olympics.
