ANTWERP – Antwerp improved to 14-5 overall and 4-3 in the Green Meadows Conference with a 41-27 victory over Edgerton Friday night in boys basketball action at the home of the Archers.
The Archers jumped out to a 9-3 lead at the end of eight minutes of action before taking a 19-13 advantage at the intermission. Antwerp posted a 27-21 lead entering the final period.
Luke Brewer topped the Archer cause with 11 points while Jayvin Landers added eight markers.
Austin Lichty posted six points for the blue and white followed by Keaton Altimus (four), Ty Rebber (four), Cole Seslar (three), Blake Schuette (three) and Luke Krouse (two).
Braydon Cape had 13 points to top Edgerton, which falls to 10-9 in all games and 3-4 in the league.
Logan Showalter added nine markers for the Bulldogs with Greg Roth bucketing three points and Jaron Cape recording two free throws.
The Archers outrebounded the Bulldogs 25-22 in the contest but also committed one more turnover, 11-10.
Antwerp finished the game 11 of 34 from the field (32 percent) compared to Edgerton’s 10 of 38 (26% percent).
The Archer junior varsity was also victorious on the evening, posting a 42-27 win over the Bulldogs.
