Antwerp 8th grade wrestler Eli Reinhart recently competed in the Junior High District Tournament at Oregon Clay on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Reinhart won 4 matches (2 by pin) to only 2 losses to earn a 5th place finish in the 104-pound weight class and thus earning him another trip to the OAC Junior High State Tournament in Youngstown, OH on March 16-17, 2019. Amazingly, this is Reinhart’s 7th consecutive year of qualifying for the OAC state tournament, making him the only Archer wrestler in history to qualify for the state tournament every year he has attempted. Congratulations Eli on breaking another Antwerp wrestling record and setting a great example for all future archer wrestlers to aspire to. We wish you the best as you prepare for the state tournament. Good luck and GO ELI!
The Wayne Trace Jr High wrestling team also had a few guys go down to Jr High districts in Oregon Clay. Connor Blankenship, Nyle Stoller, Samuel Moore, Kaden Woolbright and Zavian LaFountain. Zavian LaFountain took 4th place. Kaden Woolbright took 2nd place and will be wrestling in young’s town at the Jr high state tournament.
