DEFIANCE – Antwerp ran into a very good Ottoville girls basketball team on Saturday afternoon and the Lady Green proved to be too much as they cruised to a 46-18 victory over the Archers in Division IV girls sectional action at Defiance High School.
The Lady Green led 11-4 at the end of one quarter and outscored Antwerp 15-1 in the second stanza, pushing the margin to 26-5 at the midway point.
Ottoville took a 36-9 advantage into the final period.
Haley Hoersten and Nicole Knippen each scored 11 points to pace Ottoville with Kasey Knippen and Quinley Schlagbaum bucketing seven markers apiece.
Brynlee Hanneman and Kylee Hoersten both added three points for the Big Green and Alexis Honigford recorded a basket. Tori Thomas also connected on a free throw for Ottoville.
Chelsea Johanns concluded her career in a Lady Archer uniform by leading the blue and white with five points.
Astianna Coppes also had five markers for Antwerp and Heather Oberlin posted three points.
