The Friends of the Paulding County Carnegie Library will be hosting the March “Off the Clock” event for the Paulding Chamber of Commerce on March 6th from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the “Buy the Book” Bookstore located next to the main historic Carnegie library in Paulding. The name is a play on words because the books are not priced; shoppers can donate a free-will offering for their choices. Situated in the rear of the old “Doc Pritchard” building, the Friend’s used bookstore is stocked with fiction, mysteries, non-fiction, children’s titles, romance, educational titles, and more.
The Friends of the Paulding County Library is one of the newest members of the Chamber and was first established in 1988. By shopping at “Buy the Book”, the public is allowing the Library to receive extra funds for miscellaneous things it possibly wouldn’t otherwise enjoy. While closed for a few weeks recently for painting and a new floor, “Buy the Book” is now again open. A “ribbon-cutting” for the new remodeled bookstore will take place during the “Off the Clock” event. “We’re excited to welcome Friends of the Paulding County Carnegie Library to the Chamber crew, and we’re even more excited to celebrate their new and improved bookstore,” says Chamber director Mikayla Pieper.
Regular hours for Buy the Book Used Bookstore are Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until noon. For more information on becoming a Friends of the Library member, visit the bookstore or call the Carnegie library at 419-399-2032.
