Paulding boys basketball battled out their sectional semi-final game against Coldwater at Elida on Feburary 26, falling 52-67.

The game started close for the Paulding as the home team. They outscored the Cavaliers in the first quarter by 2 points with Jaret Miller being on fire having 3 – 3 point baskets in a row! Miller also posted two free throws. Fletcher Cook contributed to the score in the first with a 3 point basket! The score at the end of the first was 14-12.

The Cavaliers knew at this point they had to shut down Miller or they would not be able to pull off the win. Even though he scored later it was nothing like the first quarter as Coldwater focused their defensive efforts on letting Jaret score.

Coldwater was able to bump up their scores for the period to 23, giving themselves what it took to win the game. The half time score was now 23-35.

The third quarter was Paulding’s best for offensive when Blake McGarvey sunk two – 3 pointers! Shull added another pair of baskets and Miller posted another 3. Cook added a 2 pointer and a 3 for a total of 18 additional for the Panthers! The defense could not keep the Cav’s down as they also posted 16.

The fourth quarter the Panthers were back down again to only 11. Shull posted 4 more points and Miller added another three. Cook built to his score with another 4 points and that was it!
