The second grade students at Grover Hill Elementary had a visit from Senior Airman Caleb Mead who came home to visit his family from his service in the United States Air Force. Caleb is stationed in Alaska and had not been home for over a year, so this visit was an exciting surprise.
While visiting the second grade, Senior Airman Mead discussed what it was like to be in the Air Force and told the students about his job and the places he has been in the world. He also told them about some of the aircraft he works with and showed them pictures.
The second graders read a story earlier about Alaska, so Caleb shared stories and information about wildlife and the wilderness that he has experienced while living there, which included telling about a moose that visits his backyard on a weekly basis. Mead is an alumni of Wayne Trace and went to Grover Hill Elementary.
