Vantage Career Center held their annual Parent-Member banquet on Thursday, April 18th, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. President Kainen Detwiler opened up the banquet with a welcome. Black Angus Catering of Van Wert served a buffet style meal.
After the meal, Mr. Mike Miller handed out various FFA awards. Juniors with a 4.0 GPA are Joel Schneider, Megan Garrity and Kaylie Tressler. The seniors with a 4.0 include GPA senior Casey Etter, Jared Sukup and Josh Sukup. For perfect attendance, seniors Casey Etter, Jared Sukup and Josh Sukup were awarded. Junior Joel Schneider missed just ½ day.
Poultry team participants were Kainen Detwiler, Casey Etter, Nolan Grote and Kaylie Tressler and they placed 18th in the state. Job Interview participants were Kaylie Tressler, Division 3- 3rd at districts , Megan Garrity, Division 3- 2nd at districts. The Tractor troubleshooting team consisted of – Dustyn McCloud and Nolan Grote 4th at districts. Ag mechanic skills members were Nolan Grote, Dustyn McCloud, Jared Sukup- 1st in District- 4th in state. The Outdoor power team of Stuart Morehous, Joel Schneider and Collin Young were 3rd in districts. The Quiet Leader award was presented to Nolan Grote, Preston Browning and Joel Schneider. The 110% award was given to Noah Wyatt and Jared Sukup. The Most improved honoree was Kendall Roof.
The State FFA Honorary Degree will be awarded to Mrs. Susan Farr at the Ohio FFA Convention and the Chapter FFA Honorary Degrees were awarded to Mr. Tony Unverferth, Mr. Mike Miller and Mr. Rick Turner for all that they have done to assist the chapter during the last year.
After awards, Ms. Kalyn Strahley, Ohio State FFA Treasurer gave a speech. To conclude the night, the 2019-2020 were installed. Officers are: President – Kaylie Tressler, Vice President – Megan Garrity, Secretary – Joel Schneider, Treasurer – Kendall Roof, Sentinel – Ben Brown, Student Advisor – Preston Browning, Reporter – Noah Wyatt.
