Mary DeLong
Mary Ann DeLong, 81, of Antwerp passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
Mary was born in Rockford on June 29, 1938 a daughter of the late Leo George & Velma Edna (Hisey) Shaffer.
She retired from Magnavox but was most comfortable coaching the Buckeyes, the Reds & the Tigers from her couch and back seat driving for Dale Earnhardt, Inc.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Nick, whom she married Jan. 9, 1976; children, Cindy (Todd) Deming & Chris (Melinda) Walters; sister, Martha (Jon) Sidenbender; sisters-in-law, Virginia Wendel & JoAnn Shaffer; 8 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren.
Mary was also preceded in death by her siblings, Glenn (Donna), Robert, Thurman, Basil (Wilma), Leland (Pauline), Don (Norma), Charles (Pat) & Leo “Butch” Shaffer.
Her funeral service is 10 AM with viewing 9 – 9:45 am on Thursday, July 11th at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
Viewing is also Wednesday, 4 – 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home.
She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
