This weekend is packed full of community family fun. Come out & catch the fun of some awesome Teen & Kid carnival rides, a demo derby soccer, hot air balloon rides, the Famous Free T-Shirt, cruise-in car show, the grand parade, arts/craft & merchant tent, and Harlan Highland Games. Succumb to the festival fever of 12+ Food Trucks, Kids Free Zone, Win-a-Car raffle, great live music, kickball tourney, prize bingo, sport tourneys, arena events & much more!
On August 3rd, be sure to check out the 1st Annual Harlan Highland Games. Harlan Days has added this competition to their festival. It will start at High Noon after a short piper-led parade to the field to honor the athletes. Athletes will be given a t-shirt and meal ticket.
Events of the Day will include:
Open Stone, Heavy Weight for Distance, Light Weight for Distance, Sheaf Toss, Caber, Weight Over Bar.
Classes of Competition:
Open Women, Masters, Women, LW Men, A (Superstar), B (Intermediate), and C (Novice), Masters Mens awards will be given to the top 3 in each class. First place will also earn a cash prize. Mike Huth will be there to present the coveted “Jessie Mac Lennan Sportsmanship Award”. The winner of this award is picked by the athletes. The “Stout Stones” will also be on the field to test your strength. A prize will be awarded to the ones who get the stones to shoulder. The stout stone is 264 pounds and the big finn is 302 pounds.
