Antwerp’s Native Prairie Garden just installed its public sign on Friday, August 16. Linda Mabis is the founder of the project, working with Antwerp Local Schools.
Gary Mabis made the sign out of cedar wood, hand-carved and painted all of the details in the wood, and worked with West Bend Printing for a design.
This two-acre Prairie Garden was started back in 2016 with the completion of the pavilion in October of that year. The community is welcome to visit the site at the school and enjoy observing the native plants. You’ll be amazed at how many different sounds the wildlife express as you just sit and listen.
Many local groups have been helping to make this whole park possible with numerous donations of time, money and skills.
Great job to Gary and Linda on this incredible project well done!
