Houdini has a cataract in his remaining, “good” eye (he has always been blind in the other). The cataract has been progressing slowly, and now is at a point where it is affecting his quality of life.
We have had to move him to a smaller pen so he can find his food easier, and he mostly just sits in one place.
Houdini needs surgery to repair the cataract, or he will lose his eyesight. If that happens, our federal permit requires that we euthanize him. Houdini has given so much to Soarin’ Hawk, and to the many, many people he has met at our education programs. He deserves a chance at a better life.
