This year’s Sample New Haven was lots of fun. There were close to 400 people that went through downtown New Haven sampling food and entering businesses to collect letters for the scavenger hunt. The weather turned out perfect and the kids enjoyed balloons and face painting.
The NH Chamber would like to recognize the many volunteers that worked the registration tables: Tony Tribolet; Della Kirkman, Kirkman CPA; Lisa Cooper, 3Rivers Federal Credit Union; Tim Weigand, East Allen County Schools; Jonathan Kratzer, C.H. Robinson; and Sharon Schiffbauer, Graphics Output. The help received from these people make this event run much smoother.
Kudos also go out to all of those businesses that participated either by offering samples of food or drink and giving out letters for the scavenger hunt: Bob Evans Restaurant – Coventry, Dominos Pizza New Haven, Holler Tax, Ken’s Meat Market, Lane 201, Markethouse Print, Mimi’s Treasures, Moose Lodge 1480, Murphy Insurance, Navy Club Ship 245, New Haven/Adams Township Fire Dept., New Haven Bakery, New Haven Bicycles, New Haven Computer, New Haven United Methodist Church, Oaktree Health, Peter Franklin Jewelers, Power House Youth Center, Rich’s Café, Ruhls Furniture and Flooring, Smokehaus BBQ, T&D Printing, The Edge, and The Wellness Barn.
Also a special recognition to the New Haven Cheerleaders for providing face painting, to New Haven Parks Department for the donation of the 2020 Jury pool pass for the scavenger hunt winner, and to T&D Printing for printing the maps.
The winners for this year’s People’s Choice Award are: First place – Navy Club Ship 245; Second Place – Smokehaus BBQ; and Third place – Domino’s Pizza New Haven. The winner of the Jury Pool Pass was Jill Blair.
