Samantha Kuhn, from Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative, and her husband Luke recently traveled to Iceland and took The West Bend News with them.
The week-long itinerary started in the capital of Reykjavik with a dip in the famous Blue Lagoon, then went north to explore and hike the rugged Snæfellsnes Peninsula with black sand beaches and volcanoes, followed by waterfalls in the Golden Circle, snorkeling the Silfra fissure where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet in Þingvellir National Park, and rescuing baby puffins (affectionately known as pufflings) in southern Iceland’s Westman Islands (the main known as Heimaey).
They documented everything on their travel and lifestyle blog, Born In Defiance: www.BornInDefiance.com. and cover both regional and worldwide exploration. You can also find them on Facebook and Instagram @BornInDefiance.
The West Bend News crew thanks the Kuhn’s for taking WBN on vacation with them and would love to see more of it.
